In the early 1950s, biochemist Marcel Contier developed the highly innovative concept of La Biosthetique. Without employing animal testing, these distinctive products are produced in state-of-the-art laboratories through an avant-garde approach to scientific beauty and in adherence to the strictest quality standards.

What sets La Biosthetique apart from other beauty product companies is that it is committed to ecological responsibility. The products are made with a mixture of luxury pampering, biological purity and natural pampering. La Biosthetique products are all certified ECOCERT, with the company for instance having surpassed criteria in numerous cases.

To obtain an ECOCERT certification, the product production steps are defined from ingredient sourcing to complete production. It is necessary that 95 to 100% of the hair product's ingredients are from natural origins and that up to one third of the ingredients are derived from officially recognised organic source. The final and third requirement is for the product to be free from any synthetic colourings, perfumes, silicones, mineral oils, synthetic care substances, as well as parabens for preservation

The primary ingredient used is pure spa water from Bad Liebenzell in German's Black Forest. This premium quality water is sourced from a spring several hundred metres deep, which ensures absolute purity. The spa water is directly tapped and piped to La Biosthetique's production facilities under the strictest hygiene conditions.
